Hit 500 trees pruned this season and it caught me off guard
I was just tallying my work logs from the last 6 months and saw I passed 500 trees pruned this season. That number hit me different because I usually do maybe 300 in a busy year (working solo in a smaller town). It really snuck up on me, partly because I picked up a few new commercial contracts that had big groves. The funny thing is I didn't even feel rushed or anything, just steady work every week. Has anyone else had a milestone like that where the count just piled up without you noticing?

Read a piece from an old arborist newsletter that said the average pro hits around 400 trees a year, so 500 is a good notch above that. Helps put it in perspective when you see the stat written down like that. Makes you realize you picked up more work than you probably gave yourself credit for.

Hell yeah, that's a solid milestone. I've had the same thing happen with my trimming work, especially when you land those bigger commercial contracts that just keep you moving without even realizing it. The trick is to keep a daily log, even if it's just a quick jot on your phone or a scrap of paper. That way you catch those numbers before they really surprise you, and it helps you figure out your actual capacity for next season. Also, don't forget to give your tools a good clean and sharpen after that many cuts, you'll thank yourself later when the work keeps coming.
