Watching pros work changed my view on this. I've seen homeowners hand branches from a safe spot while the crew handles the chipper feed. It can be a real help if they just listen and stick to simple tasks. The risk comes from ignoring clear instructions, not from helping itself.

Picture a homeowner rushing to help by feeding branches into the chipper. They often wear loose clothes or stand in the wrong spot. I mean, one wrong move and someone could get seriously hurt. Maybe it's just me, but do we need better signs or warnings? Or is it more about people thinking they know what they're doing when they don't?

What gets me is nobody talks about how their help can actually get them SUED. If they ignore warnings and cause an accident, their home insurance might not cover it. They're taking on a crazy amount of legal risk without even knowing. It's not just about getting hurt, it's about ruining your whole life over one branch.
