Cataloged my first full set of pottery shards today.
It took a while, but I got it done. Thinking back to when we had to match pieces by eye, I'm glad for modern methods.

Hey @robertb70, definitely check your old catalogs against the new digital records for missed matches.

Yeah, the "modern methods" part is huge... I can't imagine the guesswork involved in doing it all by hand. It must make sorting and recording everything so much more accurate now. Really changes how much you can get done in a day.

A buddy of mine used to do all his inventory tracking in paper ledgers. He'd spend hours trying to match up handwritten orders with stock numbers, and mistakes were just part of the deal. Once he finally switched to a simple digital system, he found a whole box of parts in the back that were logged wrong and had been sitting there for years. The time he saves now on just the daily count is crazy. It went from a full day of stressful checking to maybe an hour of easy work. That kind of change really frees you up.
