Rant: I just blew $300 on a 'guaranteed' Roman coin that turned out to be a modern cast replica from a sketchy online auction.
Has anyone else gotten burned by those too-good-to-be-true artifact listings, and what's a legit site you'd trust for something like that?

What did the seller's feedback history look like? I got burned once and now I only buy from auction houses with a solid, long-term reputation you can actually verify. That extra research is boring but it saves you from total scams.

Used to skip checking feedback, figured it was overkill. Got a fake watch that looked like it was made from soda cans. Now I check every seller's history like my life depends on it.
