That $180 ground-penetrating radar rental saved my dig in Ohio

I was surveying a supposed 1800s farmstead site near Dayton last month and kept hitting nothing with test pits, so I blew $180 on a weekend GPR rental from a local outfit. It mapped out a buried stone foundation and a possible trash pit in under two hours, completely changing where we put our grid. Has anyone else dropped cash on tech like this and had it actually pay off, or do you stick with old-school probing?
