An old timer at a yard sale in Duluth told me he has never once googled anything, and it stuck with me
I was digging through a $1 book bin last Saturday when he said it, real casual, like it was no big deal for a guy who drove a truck for 30 years. He said he just asks people or reads the manual, and 9 times out of 10 he gets a better answer than a search page full of ads. Do you think we lost something when asking a neighbor turned into typing it into a phone, or is that just me being old?
My buddy asked his mechanic neighbor about a weird noise and the guy just hopped in and rode around the block til he heard it himself. That beats any search page, mostly because the neighbor actually cared if it got fixed right.
