Found out my local coffee shop uses 62% more syrup than I do at home

I was at Brew & Grind on Elm Street last Tuesday and the barista let me watch them make a caramel latte. I asked about their syrup pumps and they said they do 4 pumps for a medium. At home I do 2 pumps max. That's double the sugar right there. I looked it up later and apparently shops use a standard ratio to make drinks taste 'bolder' but it's basically just more sugar. Has anyone else checked what their favorite cafe uses compared to what they put in at home?
