Heads up, people keep confusing 'can I ask you a question' with 'can you do this for me'
I saw it three times at a town hall last night, people saying they just wanted info but then outlining a whole task they wanted the speaker to handle. If you're gonna ask for a favor, just lead with that so nobody's time is wasted, has anyone else noticed this getting worse?

Just started asking people flat out "are you asking me to do this or just telling me about it?" Cuts through the whole dance pretty fast.

I get why you'd try that, but it can come off kind of aggressive and make people defensive (like they're being put on the spot).
