Heard a lady at the DMV say she's 71 and just got her first library card

I was waiting for my number to get called at the DMV on Tuesday and this older woman next to me told the guy beside her she'd just signed up for her first library card at 71. She said she'd spent 40 years buying paperbacks at garage sales because she thought libraries were 'for students.' I sat there thinking about how many things I've written off as not for me just because nobody ever told me otherwise. My number got called before I could say anything to her, which I kind of regret. What's something you assumed wasn't for you until way later than it should have been?
