Hit 200 consecutive days on Duolingo and honestly it shocked me
I started learning Irish Gaelic as a joke after watching some show on Netflix. Figured I'd drop it after a week like every other language app I tried. But something about the little green owl guilt tripping me worked. Yesterday I hit 200 days and I actually understood a tweet written in Irish. Not fluently or anything but I got the gist. Has anyone else had a random milestone pop up from something you started on a whim?

yo thats actually wild, the green owl really does have some kind of dark power over us lol. 200 days is legit impressive, especially for a language nobody uses in real life. knowing enough to catch a tweet in Irish is a real win though, that stuff feels like unlocking a cheat code in your brain. duolingo's guilt trip method is honestly underrated, it somehow makes you feel bad about ignoring a cartoon bird. keep it up, you might accidentally learn the whole language at this rate.

Gotta push back a little on @fiona737 saying Irish isn't used in real life, because it's actually spoken daily in parts of Ireland, just not by the majority. There are whole communities called Gaeltacht areas where Irish is the main language, plus a lot of people use it online and in media. Still, 200 days is a solid achievement and catching that tweet must have felt awesome, right?
