Hot take: my barber in Tulsa told me to stop asking him about my haircut
I sat down in his chair 3 weeks ago and asked the usual, "what do you think, should I go shorter on the sides?" He put the clippers down and said "man, you've asked me that 6 times this year and you never take my answer. Just tell me what YOU want." That hit way harder than it should have. I've done the same thing with my job, my truck, even picking a paint color for the shed, always fishing for someone to make the call for me. Since then I've just started saying what I want first and it's cut my decision time in half. So here's my ask for this community, where do you go when you actually need an answer vs where do you go just to hear someone agree with you?
