Hot take: Overcommunicating at work might be worse than undercommunicating

I used to send updates every single time I finished a task, like 10 emails a day. After my boss in Denver pulled me aside and said 'hey, you're flooding my inbox,' I realized I was just adding noise. Now I batch my updates into one daily summary and people actually read them. Anybody else switch from one extreme to the other and see better results?

My boss straight up told me my daily 47 emails made his eye twitch lol.
