I finally got my friend to try that new pizza place in town last week, and now we can't agree on what makes a perfect slice.

He swears by a thin, crispy crust with just cheese and pepperoni. I think a thicker, chewy crust with more toppings is better. We argued about it for a good 20 minutes after we left. The place is called Tony's on Maple Street, by the way. What do you think is more important for a great pizza, the crust or the toppings?

Honestly the crust is the whole foundation of the pizza. If that part isn't good, it doesn't matter what you pile on top. Maybe it's just me but a floppy or bland crust ruins everything.

Wait, you're telling me some people don't think the crust is the most important part? That's wild, @jessew83. A bad crust makes the whole thing a waste. You get that sad, doughy middle that can't hold the cheese, or that cracker-dry edge that tastes like cardboard. A great crust has that crisp chew and a flavor that actually adds to the bite. Without that, you're just eating toppings on a wet napkin.
