I finally realized I was using chopsticks wrong after 25 years

My coworker at the ramen spot told me I was pinching too high up and it clicked why my noodles kept slipping, now I actually finish a bowl in 10 minutes instead of fighting it for 20 has anyone else had a basic skill flip like that?

Fighting it for 20 minutes" is exactly how I felt with a knife. I held it wrong for 30 years, gripping the handle way too tight like I was trying to choke it or something. A chef friend told me to just pinch the blade right above the handle and let my fingers guide it, and slicing tomatoes went from a whole ordeal to actually being easy. It's wild how we just muscle through stuff for decades without realizing there's a trick to it.

@taylor_mitchell80 nailed it. Muscle memory is a trap until someone shows you the easy way.
