Just realized I messed up a simple question at a radio interview in Manchester
I was on a live show last year and someone called in asking about my songwriting process. I gave a really vague answer about 'feelings' and the host, Sarah, called me out right there, asking for a specific example. I froze for a second, then just talked about writing 'Smile' in my flat after a bad breakup. It was super awkward but she said it made the answer real. Has anyone else had a moment where a simple question tripped you up until you got specific?

Specifics always save you. Keep one real story ready to go for when your brain blanks. It turns a vague answer into something people remember.

Ever think being vague made you sound smarter? I used to... figured details would trap me if I got questioned. But I blanked once in a meeting, just froze up. Having one real story in my back pocket, about a project that went wrong and how we fixed it, saved me. Now I see how it turns a shaky answer into something solid people can grab onto. Changed my whole view on preparing for stuff.
