I finally compared stacked vs single exposure shots of the Orion Nebula
Been shooting the Orion Nebula for about 6 months with my old DSLR and a 200mm lens. Always did single 30 second exposures. Saw a guy in a forum talk about stacking 50 short exposures instead. Tried it last Tuesday night from my backyard in Denver. Night and day difference. The detail in the dust lanes popped out way more and the core wasn't blown out white. Single exposures looked flat. Has anyone else had way better luck with stacking?

My buddy tried stacking M42 and said it looked like a whole new nebula.

And the detail in those outer hydrogen clouds just blows your mind, right?
