I finally figured out why my primer kept fish-eyeing after 2 days of sanding

Been fighting with fish-eyes on a Honda Civic bumper for the last two days. Sanded it down three times, cleaned with wax and grease remover, still got those little craters every time I sprayed. Finally realized the problem was my compressor tank had been sitting with old condensation in it. Drained maybe a half cup of water out of the bottom, blew the lines out, and the next coat laid down perfect. Anyone else ever get caught by dirty air like that?

Did you check the inline filter on your gun too? Sometimes those little things trap water even after you drain the tank.

Yeah, those inline filters are sneaky little devils. I had the exact same thing happen last month where I drained the tank, checked everything, and still got sputtering. Sure enough, pulled the filter and it was full of water. Now I just swap them out every season to be safe.
