I've been mixing clear coat wrong for years and just found out
I was helping my buddy at his shop in Dayton last week, and he watched me pour the hardener straight from the can. He stopped me and said, 'You know that's messing with the ratio, right?' I always thought as long as I measured the total ounces, it was fine. Turns out, the hardener left in the can's lip and threads throws off the mix by a tiny bit, which can cause curing issues down the line. Now I pour it into a separate mixing cup first. Has anyone else had a small habit like that they had to fix?

Yeah, that tiny bit really adds up over a whole paint job, lol.

Ever try mixing a whole batch at once?

Man for real, those little leftovers from each mix can turn into a whole can of wasted paint if you're not careful.
