New car sensors are so fragile, a tap messes them up and adds hours

But come on, how often does a "love tap" actually happen? Most people go years without even a door ding. Seems like the tech is working as intended, freaking out over rare hits because that's literally its job. My old car's bumper was cracked for a decade and it drove fine, but that doesn't mean it was better. The sensors are just telling you something got bumped, which is true.

Honestly, these new sensors act like they're made of sugar glass or something. A tiny tap and the car freaks out like it's been in a wreck. The fix probably costs more than my first car did. Makes you wonder if the tech is too smart for its own good. Ngl, it's like the car has a nervous breakdown over a love tap.

You might try getting the sensors recalibrated before replacing them. I had a similar issue where a light bump set off warnings, but a recalibration fixed it for way less money. It's worth asking your mechanic about it next time you're in.
