Painting my shed was a wake-up call for car paint matching

I painted my shed last week with a beige from the store. It looked perfect under my shop light. Outside it was a different tone. Too yellow. I had to mix my own batch. That's when it hit me. Car paint does the same thing. The shine changes in light. Now I spray test panels. Check them at noon and dusk. No more call backs for color issues.

Watching paint dry just got a whole new meaning. You go from thinking you picked a nice neutral beige to realizing your shed looks like it has a sickly yellow fever in the sunlight. Good times.

My buddy painted his whole living room what he swore was light gray. Looked fine inside, then the sun hit it and turned the whole wall baby puke green. He had to redo it all.

Ugh, that yellow turns into cheap mustard color.
