Shoutout to the guy who showed me a $5 plastic razor blade holder for decal removal

I spent years struggling with a metal scraper, but after he handed me that cheap tool in his Tacoma shop bay, I got the old vinyl off a 2012 F-150 tailgate in under 20 minutes without a single scratch.

Ever try a heat gun on low with that plastic blade? It makes the old adhesive let go like nothing. Just keep the heat moving so you don't blister the paint underneath. The combo of warm vinyl and that plastic scraper is a total game changer for stubborn decals. A little goo gone afterwards cleans up any leftover sticky stuff.

Last summer I had to remove a ten year old bumper sticker from my truck. I used a hair dryer on high and one of those plastic putty knives from the hardware store. The heat made the vinyl peel off in one piece, but it left this nasty glue residue. A rag soaked in vegetable oil took care of that in about five minutes. It was way cheaper than buying a special product.

Hold up... you're telling me that $5 tool could've saved me from every paint chip I've ever created with my trusty putty knife, @ninasingh? Guess I'll add that to the "lessons learned the hard way" list lol.
