Why does nobody talk about checking your gun setup before every mix
So I've been spraying base coat for about 6 years and always figured my slightly blotchy metallics were just me rushing the overlap. Last Tuesday I was doing a silver bumper on a 2019 Civic and my buddy wandered over and asked why my fluid knob was still set from the primer I shot that morning. Turns out I hadn't touched it in weeks, just kept adjusting air and pattern and wondering why the metallic looked like it had measles. I backed the fluid out a half turn, did a test card, and the difference was night and day, way more even flake. Kind of embarrassing it took a friend walking by to catch it. Does anyone here do a full knob check between every product change or am I the only one who got lazy about it?
