Finally got the hang of reading those new EV battery coolant flow diagrams

For months, I was just guessing on a lot of the hybrid systems that came in, but I spent an afternoon with the factory service manual for a 2022 Prius. The specific flow path for the battery chiller loop finally clicked. Has anyone else found a good way to explain this to apprentices without making their eyes glaze over?

Tracing the lines with a highlighter on a printed copy helped me a lot. I used one color for the cabin loop and another for the battery chiller circuit. Showing how they share the radiator but split at the valve makes it less abstract. It turns a confusing diagram into a simple map they can follow with their finger.

Yo that's smart. I bet you could even use clear tape over the printout and draw on it with dry erase markers. Then you can erase and try again if you mess up.
