Hot take: chasing grounds with a meter beat swapping parts on a 2011 Civic
Had a 2011 Civic in the bay at my shop in Akron last week with a no start and a crank that sounded fine but never caught. My old habit was to throw a crank sensor at it and hope, but this time I pulled out the meter and checked resistance on the sensor and the wiring before touching a single part. Turned out the sensor itself was fine and the real problem was a chafed ground wire behind the block, which cost me about 20 minutes and zero dollars in parts. The last time I guessed on a car like this I ate a $90 sensor and still had the same no start, so I am done throwing parts at cars. Anyone else here switched to testing first and had it pay off, or do you still go by feel on no starts?
