I finally tried impact sockets vs standard on a suspension job

Been using standard chrome sockets for 10 years on my own stuff. Last weekend I did a full strut replacement on my 08 Civic and borrowed my buddy's impact sockets. The difference was night and day. No more wrestling stuck bolts that twisted the socket body. Has anyone else made the switch late like me and regretted not doing it sooner?

I read somewhere that impact sockets are made from a softer steel so they actually flex a tiny bit instead of cracking like chrome ones do. Sounds backwards but it makes sense after using them on those rusty Civic bolts. Did you notice any difference in how tight the socket fit on the nut?

Wait, softer steel? I'm sitting here thinking impact sockets are tougher because they don't break, but you're saying they actually flex a little? That's wild, I always figured the black coating was just for looks but now it makes sense why they hold up better on seized stuff. Never noticed a looser fit though, mine always seem snug enough.
