Stopped by the salvage yard in Springfield and saw something weird with newer cars
I was pulling a transmission from a 2020 Civic and noticed the entire front subframe was one giant aluminum casting. Not bolted together like the old ones. It's a single piece that holds the engine, suspension, everything. Makes a simple strut job a nightmare if it's bent. Anyone else run into this and have a good method for checking them for damage?

Ugh, that sounds like a total pain. How are you even supposed to check that thing without pulling the whole car apart? Manufacturers just don't think about repairs anymore.

Right?! It is like they design half these things to be disposable on purpose.
