Swapped a cracked intake manifold on a 6.0 Ford in my driveway during a snowstorm Tuesday and it fired right up first try
Took me 11 hours because I kept dropping bolts in the snow, but that roar when it started made all the freezing worth it - has anyone else had a job turn around like that when everything was stacked against you?

You ever have a buddy who thinks he's a diesel mechanic after watching three YouTube videos? My friend Kyle tried swapping an injection pump on his 7.3 Powerstroke in February, in the dark, with a headlamp that kept dying. He had to pull the turbo twice because he forgot to prime the oil system, and by the end his fingers were so numb he couldn't feel his own phone. But when that thing finally lit up, he just sat there in the cold grinning for like ten minutes. Sometimes the hardest wins are the ones that stick with you.

Had a buddy do a similar job on his 6.0 and ended up snapping a bolt in the valley at 2am. Next time tell Kyle to grab a corded drop light and a cheap mechanics stethoscope to hear the pump prime before he even cranks it. @cooper.nathan he's not the only one who's sat in the dark waiting for a 7.3 to fire off and call it a win.
