Talked to an old diesel guy at a gas station last week. Changed how I think about injectors.
He saw me messing with a Ford 6.0 and just walked over. Said most guys overclean injectors and ruin the spray pattern. Told me to only run high idle for 2 minutes max before shutting down. Been doing it for a month now. No more cold start clatter. Anybody else hear something like that and just go 'oh crap he's right'?

That thing about overcleaning injectors... it's like he was talking about my whole life actually. I've noticed people just can't leave things alone when they're working fine, you know? We all get that itch to fix something that ain't broke, whether it's injectors or relationships or the way we load the dishwasher. It's like we're trained to think more effort equals better results, but sometimes the best thing you can do is just back off and let stuff be. His two minute rule hits different because it's so simple, and it's probably the same with a bunch of other stuff we overcomplicate.
