That moment a caliper bolt snapped on a 2005 Civic

Last Tuesday I'm doing a brake job on a customer's Civic, easy stuff, and the lower caliper bolt just shears off halfway out. Blew my whole afternoon because I had to drill and retap it in the car, took like 3 hours with a right angle drill. What's worse, the parts store only had the bracket with the bolts included, so I paid $38 for something I didn't fully need. Anyone else had a bolt snap on them at the worst possible time, or is it just my luck?

Actually that $38 bracket with bolts sounds like a fair deal if you value your time at all... drilling and retapping in the car is a miserable job and you got a fresh bracket out of it for less than what an hour of labor usually costs at a shop. Plus those bolts are torque to yield anyway, so using old ones was always a gamble. Next time just price the whole bracket into the job before you start, saves the headache of thinking you got ripped off.
