Unpopular opinion: that 'simple' oil cooler line job on a 2015 Ram 1500 took me 8 hours
The line was seized in the block fitting, and the special tool just rounded the nut. Ended up cutting the line, welding a new fitting, and running a whole new section. What's the best way you've found to deal with those rusted cooler lines without destroying the oil cooler?

That's not really an unpopular opinion, it's just how those jobs go sometimes. Those fittings are a nightmare once they rust solid. A good trick is to heat the aluminum block around the fitting, not the steel line itself, before you try the tool.

Yeah, I saw a forum post where a guy swore by a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF to soak them first... let it sit for a day. The heating trick is key though, because that aluminum expands way faster than the steel line. Makes all the difference when you're trying not to round off the fitting. Still ends up being a whole afternoon project most of the time.
