Used to fight with rusted exhaust bolts for hours until I learned about the heat-and-wax trick

Back in 2019 at a shop in Missoula, an old-timer showed me to heat the bolt cherry red then drip candle wax on it before wrenching, and now those same seized bolts come out in under 5 minutes, so has anyone else found a weird trick that totally changed how you handle rust?

Hit the bolt with some PB Blaster a few hours before and let it soak in deep. That plus a quick torch blast usually frees up stuff that's been frozen for years. Kroil works even better than PB if you can find it.

Tried that exact combo on my F-150's leaf spring bolts last fall. Soaked em in PB for a solid 6 hours, then hit em with the torch for about 30 seconds each. Cracked em loose with a breaker bar no problem. Thought I was gonna have to drill em out but nope. Kroil is definitely better but hard to find around here.
