Got burned by a broker in Denver who added $300 after my car was already on the truck
I booked a move from Denver to Phoenix back in March and the quote was $850, locked in writing with a pickup window of Tuesday morning. The driver showed up 6 hours late, loaded my Civic, then handed me a new paper that said $1,150 because of a "fuel surcharge" and "long carry fee." I had already signed the original bill of lading and my car was halfway up the ramp on a Wednesday afternoon, so I paid it just to keep things moving. Filed a complaint with the FMCSA two days later and got $200 back after about 6 weeks, which honestly surprised me. Has anyone here had luck getting a deposit refunded when the broker goes silent after pickup? I still have the texts if that helps.
