The $50 ratchet strap upgrade that saved my rear door in Tulsa
I haul cars part time and always used those basic hooks for securing the rear. Last month a classic Bronco shifted during a hard brake and the hook bent clean. Swapped to the soft loop straps with ratchets at a truck stop, cost me $50 for a set of four. The soft loops grip the frame without scratching and they hold way tighter in the same spots. Tightened one down in under two minutes on a recent run to Oklahoma City. Has anyone else had better luck with soft loops over hooks for older vehicles?

Funny how the cheap stuff fails exactly when you need it most, but the $50 fix becomes the thing you never think about again. It's like that everywhere, the real cost is always the downtime, not the part.
