DAE draw connector pinouts on paper before digging in?

I used to jump into wiring jobs without a plan. Tbh, it led to mix-ups and wasted hours. Last year, I started drawing quick pinout maps on scrap paper first. Honestly, it cuts my repair time in half and I haven't messed up a connection since. Try it if you handle complex aircraft harnesses.

Yeah, turning a huge mistake into a quick fix is the real win. My diagrams have saved me from some truly creative wiring blunders I'd rather not admit to. What's the worst pinout mix-up you've almost made?

Honestly that "haven't messed up a connection since" part is a bit optimistic for me... the diagrams definitely save my butt most of the time, but I still have my moments. It just turns a huge mistake into a quick fix you can catch before powering up. Still totally worth the five minutes of sketching.

Sounds like someone learned to stop mixing up wires the hard way.
