Faulty harness pinout had me chasing a ghost for 2 days in Fort Worth

I was doing a pre-flight check on a King Air and the right engine's torque read 12% high for no reason. Spent the whole first day swapping sensors and checking grounds, still off. Day two I pulled the harness apart and found pin 22 and pin 24 were swapped by whoever built the extension cable. That one messed up pin cost me a full workday and a lot of cussing. Has anyone else found a lazy or wrong pinout in a new harness straight from the vendor?

Buddy of mine had the same thing happen on a Cessna 208. Brand new wiring harness from the vendor, pitot static system reading all wrong. He spent a whole afternoon pulling panels and testing air lines, thought he had a leak somewhere. Finally traced it back to the harness where two pins for the heated pitot were just swapped. He called the vendor and they said it was a "known batch issue" but nobody flagged it. He still brings that up whenever someone asks about new parts.
