Found out the average age of an A&P is 54, so is the gray hair a problem or not
Was poking around the FAA's 2024 mechanic workforce numbers last night at my kitchen table and the median age for certificated A&P holders came back at 54, which is higher than I guessed. Half the hangar says that means the trade is dying and we should be pushing kids into it, the other half says it just means the old guys are grandfathered into jobs nobody can replace. I'm 11 years in myself and still can't tell which side I buy. Curious what you all think, is that number a real warning or just a stat that gets thrown around?
