Just caught a shop cutting corners on connector crimps

I overheard a lead tech at a depot last week telling his junior to just tin the wires and shove them in, skip the crimp entirely... That's a fire waiting to happen on a 737. Anyone else run into shops trying to rush through terminations like this?

Exactly, laziness on the small stuff proves someone doesn't care about the bigger picture.

That kind of shortcut drives me NUTS. It's part of a bigger pattern I've been seeing everywhere - people cutting corners on small things that add up to REAL danger. Like how everyone wants to use the cheapest zip ties or tape instead of buying proper hardware. Or how folks install outdoor lights with indoor rated wiring because it's what they had in the garage. It's the same mindset that makes someone skip the crimp because tinning is faster and "it's never been a problem before." Until it IS a problem. That lead tech probably tells himself it saves time for the airline, but really he's just being lazy and risking lives for zero good reason.
