That intermittent GPS fault had me chasing wires for 14 hours straight

So I'm on a CRJ-700 in Tulsa and the captain keeps getting a drop on GPS 1 every 20 minutes like clockwork. Multimeter says power is fine, antenna cable tests good, LRU swaps did nothing. Finally around hour 14 I notice the rack fan has a slight wobble and pull the whole tray. Underneath the mounting screw there's a chafed wire that only grounds out when the airframe flexes on taxi. Problem child was a $4 replacement pigtail. How do you guys track down gremlins that only show up under movement? Has anyone else found hidden damage under a tray after everything else checks out clean?

Fourteen hours on a Tulsa ramp and it was a four dollar pigtail, I feel your pain on that one.
