TIL that crimping D-sub pins wrong can cost you a 3 hour rework session
Honestly I just found out that I've been using the wrong crimper die size for my DB9 pins for like 6 months. One bad pull test on a production harness and I had to redo 15 lines. Has anyone else had a similar issue with cheap crimpers from Amazon?

Oh man, that "wrong crimper die size" bit hit home, I wrecked a whole batch of DB25 pins last month using a cheap knockoff set.

Knockoff crimpers are pure gambling... you save twenty bucks then trash sixty dollars worth of pins. Those dies never line up right, always leave one side slightly crushed. Even the name brand ones can drift out of spec if you drop them once.
