Bought a $180 ultralight tent for the Superior Hiking Trail and it leaked on night one
I grabbed a super cheap 1.5 pound tent off a clearance site because the specs looked great and the reviews were mostly fine. First night out near Tettegouche State Park it rained for about three hours and I woke up with a puddle in the corner and my sleeping bag soaked. The seam tape had peeled off in two spots right out of the box and I never checked it before I left. I ended up hiking 6 miles back to the car at 5am and sleeping in the back seat. Has anyone else gotten burned by a tent that looked good on paper but failed the first real storm?
