Realized I was folding my tent wrong for 15 years after a ranger pointed it out at Yosemite

That ranger at Tuolumne Meadows campground just watched me stuff my tent and said why are you creasing the pole sleeves like that. Has anyone else been making some dumb mistake for way too long without knowing?

I once tried to fix a tent pole by wrapping it in duct tape and it snapped two hours later in the wind... took me ten years to buy a repair sleeve.

Used to think duct tape could fix anything, honest mistake. But yeah, that tent pole story is exactly why I finally caved and bought the proper repair sleeve too. Never again trusting tape with structural stuff.
