Took the High Sierra Trail last month and the campsite near Bearpaw Meadow was insane
The view of the Great Western Divide from there is unreal at sunrise. But nobody warns you how loud marmots are at 5 AM, what did you do to keep them from chewing your gear?

They're not that bad (really) and honestly your gear is fine if you just hang it properly.

Actually started bringing a cheap mesh laundry bag to toss over my pack at night. Light enough to carry and stopped the little buggers from getting curious. Did you try the bear can trick or just tough it out?
