Tried hiking in trail runners on the Art Loeb Trail and my feet paid for it
I usually wear boots but last weekend I tried my Salomon trail runners on a 30 mile stretch of the Art Loeb in Pisgah and by mile 18 my ankles were screaming on the rocky descents. I thought lighter shoes would help my knees but I ended up rolling my left ankle twice near Shining Rock. Guess I will save the runners for smooth trails and keep boots for anything with real rocks. Anyone else made the switch and figured out a way to make it work?
