Wasted $60 on a 'waterproof' map case that leaked on day 2 of the PCT

Bought a fancy clear map pouch from the gear shop in Bishop and it fogged up inside then let rain right through near Evolution Creek. Anybody found a map case that actually stays dry in a downpour?

bro that's literally the same thing that happened to mine except mine wasn't even waterproof it just said it was lol. fogged up on day one and then the seam split open when i tried to dry it out. total waste of money.

it reminds me of this "waterproof" phone pouch i got for kayaking, i tested it in the sink first and it was fine but then i took it on the lake and somehow the seal just gave up and i ended up with a bag full of lake water and a dead phone. i mean idk maybe i didn't close it right but the instructions had like eight steps and a diagram, felt like i was defusing a bomb just to take a picture.
