DAE think those fancy squirrel-proof feeders are a waste? My $6 slinky from the hardware store in Dayton has kept them off for 4 months
Tried the bungee cord trick after the baffle pole failed twice, and the squirrels just slide right down it without even getting mad. Anyone else found cheap stuff that works better than the $50 feeders at the bird store?

Bungee cords actually stretch under their weight so they can shimmy down pretty easy, the trick is the spring tension has to be just right or they figure it out fast. Slinky works better cause the coils collapse and dump them every time they grab on.
