My squirrel baffle plan totally backfired yesterday morning
I put up a new pole system with a big plastic dome to keep them off the feeders. Woke up to find a gray squirrel had jumped from our oak tree, landed right on top of the dome, and was hanging upside down to eat. It happened around 7 AM. I had to go out and move the whole setup 10 feet further from any branches. Has anyone else had a squirrel pull a mission impossible move like that? What did you try next?

Wow, they're basically tiny ninjas.

Totally get that, @rayy83. Used to think they were just clumsy, but seeing them sneak around like that totally changed my mind.

That squirrel sounds like it was determined, gotta give them credit for creativity. My neighbor had a similar situation where a squirrel figured out how to launch itself from a gutter downspout onto a feeder. He eventually gave up and just started putting out a separate tray of peanuts on the ground for them, figuring it was easier than fighting it. Sometimes you just have to accept you're running a free all you can eat buffet for the local wildlife. They're basically furry little engineers with way too much time on their hands.
