Shoutout to the $85 heated bird bath I bought this winter
It kept the water open for weeks when everything else froze solid, and I saw way more robins and sparrows because of it. Has anyone else tried a heated setup, or is there a cheaper trick I'm missing?

Honestly, I used to think those were a total waste. But seeing that many birds all winter? I mean, maybe it's worth it after all.

Wondering how much your electric bill went up with that thing running all winter. I've heard those heaters can be real power hogs, even the small ones. Did you notice a spike in your costs, or is it pretty minor? Trying to decide if the extra birds are worth a potential hike in my utility payment.

My buddy got one for his coop last year. His bill jumped like forty bucks a month. He said the birds were fine but his wallet was not happy. Ended up switching to a different setup with insulation instead.
