Switched from a tube feeder to a hopper feeder and the mess difference is unreal

After 3 months of cleaning up cracked shell pieces and wasted seed under my old tube feeder, I finally swapped to a wooden hopper feeder last week and my patio is spotless for the first time, has anyone else noticed a huge drop in waste with hoppers?

Oh man, you have no idea how much I relate to this. I switched from a tube feeder to a hopper a couple months back and it was like a whole new world for my deck (seriously, no more sweeping up every single day). The tube ones just seem to let seeds fall out every time a bird bumps into them, but the hopper feels way more contained. I bet your patio is breathing a sigh of relief, haha.

Whole new world" is right. Actually, that reminds me of a buddy of mine who tried one of those tube feeders for suet. He had it right outside his kitchen window, thought it'd be great to watch the woodpeckers up close. Instead he spent two months scraping melted fat off his patio furniture every time the sun hit it. Finally gave up and just stuck a block in a simple cage feeder. Isn't it funny how the fancier stuff just makes more mess sometimes?
