That expensive suet feeder I bought keeps getting wrecked by squirrels
I dropped $40 on this fancy metal suet feeder with a cage around it. Thought it would be squirrel proof. Three days later they figured out how to pry the cage open. Guess I shoulda just stuck with the cheap plastic one from the hardware store. Anybody got a suet feeder that actually holds up to these little monsters?

Hot pepper suet sounds way smarter than my plan of trying to yell at them, @gonzalez.rowan!

My buddy had the same problem and he ended up just hanging his feeder from a thin wire instead of a hook or pole. Squirrels climb the pole or jump from a branch, but they dont like swinging on a skinny wire that wobbles. It worked for about a week until one of them figured out how to shimmy down the wire like some kind of acrobat. He swapped the suet for hot pepper suet and that actually stopped them cold. Took a few days for the squirrels to learn that the spicy stuff wasnt worth it. Birds dont taste the heat so they were fine. Now he just buys the plain suet and soaks it in cayenne pepper water overnight.
