Vent: Visited that fancy bird sanctuary in Ann Arbor and everyone was raving about the bird baths

I don't get the hype honestly. Went there last Saturday with my cousin and all the bird baths were just plastic bowls sitting on rocks. Looked like someone's garage sale. Meanwhile the natural brush piles and log feeders had way more action. Am I missing something or do people just like the shiny look?

Yeah totally agree, I dragged my neighbor out there last month and was surprised everyone was losing their minds over those plastic trays. The birds barely touched them, they were all over the messy brush piles and old logs where bugs hang out. I think people just get distracted by something that looks clean and put together even if it's not what the birds actually want.

Good on you for actually testing it out instead of just repeating what everyone says. Sounds about right for most of those plastic feeders. People love the look of something neat and organized but the birds just want what's natural.
